Dual Chamber Heater 3D Model Case for IDEX 3D Printer.
It was designed to accommodate 2 x 100w heaters and a 97mm blower fan.
I have also added some mounting points to the casing, as many of you requested.
I have successfully printed it with ASA-CF Filament and it holds up pretty well, but I will include some material recommendations in the blog post (the link below)
The full list of parts used in the build including the assembly instructions can be found on the blog post page here: (the link will be added soon)
As many of you have asked about the materials and parts that I used I put the small list together. If you think I’ve missed something please let me know)
For now I will include the list of materials/components used below:
- Material – I had great success printing it wit IEMAI ASA-CF. It is temp-resistant enough for the job. (Amazon link: https://amzn.to/3NDfMzc)
Alternatively you can use Eryone ASA-CF (Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/3C2MZ4A) or even IEMAI PC-CF (Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/48mxDUu) - PTC Heaters – I used 2 x 100W 220V PTC Heaters. Found them on Amazon too: https://amzn.to/4e1YlD9 . Or cheaper version here: https://amzn.to/3YG1mo0
- SSR (Solid State Relay) – This is how you are going to control the power output of the heaters. Always get the one which is rated for at least double of the power of your heaters. I used the 25A-ones – https://amzn.to/3UqL28t
- Temperature sensor – NTC 100k 3950 Thermistor Works just fine for this. And it’s also easy to connect to your 3D printer and configure it.
Again, can be bought from Amazon: https://amzn.to/4fjsvD0 . Or these ones a bit cheaper, but without the connectors: https://amzn.to/3YmTNkT - Fan – I used a large 97mm Blower fan and there is a reason for it – You can run it at 50% with a decent airflow and it will be almost silent! Just make sure you get the right one for your Setup (12V or 24V)
12V 97mm Blower fan – https://amzn.to/3NFG8jR .
24V 97mm Blower Fan – https://amzn.to/3YI4LSr
And finally the 3D Printer it was printed on is QIDI Plus 4. I will be making a dedicated blog post about it in the future, so stay tuned.
It can also be found on Amazon https://amzn.to/3UnP5lC
